Our vision is to make aging in place more realistic and feasible for those who are less independent due to the normal course of aging and the ravages of chronic disease.
Families desire to provide meaningful, quality care to their elderly members and maintain a high quality of life and extend their contributions to family and community. Spiritual Care for Homebound Elderly will provide service for older adults through one to one visits offering Bible reading, prayers, and music participation; and by teaching and training family members and formal care-givers how to provide person-centered spiritual care. These programs will be offered at no cost to the families or individual older adults.
Mission Statement
Many older adults become sedentary and homebound because of chronic aches and pains from diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, musculoskeletal issues and varying degrees of cognitive impairment, up to and including dementia.
Our mission is to make life more pleasurable for those who are living at home and unable to attend church services as they were accustomed during more independence.
Stimulation introduced by personal interaction, Bible reading, music, and other enjoyable activities enlivens and energizes these older adults. Increased levels of involvement with life lead to higher satisfaction for them and their care-givers. Ultimately, these boosts in health and vitality have been reported to decrease the need for medications and other health-related resources.
